Activities

Cottar's House Auchindrain is an extraordinary attraction, which brings a historic “farming village” back to life. On entering the Museum visitors step back in time to witness how the local community lived, worked and played. The original village buildings are furnished and give a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the people who once lived and worked at Auchindrain.

cottars_house (6K) Visitors can wander at leisure through the cottages, longhouses, barns and byres of this unique Museum for a not to be forgotten taste of life in the past. Auchindrain is a very special place that lets you experience life in the past with all of your senses.

Additional on-site attractions include feeding the Museum chickens, shopping in our small Gift Shop, enjoying drinks and cakes or a picnic in this historic location, having fun using our FREE children’s activity table, enjoying a walk in the Museum grounds or joining in with one of our events. A visit to Auchindrain is a fun day out for everyone!

Children’s Activity Table

Our FREE activity table allows children visiting the township to have fun doing quizzes, puzzles, colouring and other activities while accompanying adults explore.
